reluctance after a great weekend

Published by Bryan under My Life

Reluctantly returned the D700, SB900 and Lenses to Nikon after having fun with them over the weekend. It was great having Jean to trot Singapore’s streets with me snapping almost anything and everything. It’s been a really long time since I had the time to do street photography. Click on the photos below and see if you can point out where the photos are taken.

Insomnia

Published by Bryan under My Life

I can’t sleep. I couldn’t sleep last night too. Since Thursday evening, I’ve been playing with the new Nikon D700 and SB-900. Was suppose to return it earlier on. But the loan was extended till Monday.

Its a fantastic camera, a tad too heavy. I’m totally in love with its capabilities.

Most probably will be doing some street photography with Jean later today and Sunday too. Have not done street photography for a long time. I hope I can fall asleep…now…

Good Night….

An afternoon at Hort Park

Published by Bryan under My Life

Attended the Nikon D700 Launch yesterday afternoon at Hort Park. The park is really beautiful and there are a few couples doing their bridal shoot there. I think it’s nice to bring your family there for an outing. Can get to know more about plants, enjoy the scenery and also keep fit. There is an extension bridge that links to other parks too. I heard the lights the parks are beautiful at night.

A few days ago, I watched the movie The Leap Years again on DVD. The movie is based on a novella by local writer Catherine Lim. There are just too many beautiful words that all pieced into lyrical phrases.

One of my favorites from the screen:
A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it - Jean de la Fointaine.

It’s a coincidence that this French poet goes by the name of Jean too. As they say, coincidence is the God’s way of remaining anonymous. I guess one Singaporean way to explaining the phrase is “Just when you turn left to dodge this ERP, you get another one. Beep goes the Cashcard IU”

You have to watch the movie to really feel the love they share. Their love at first sight, 4 dates in 12 years and they finally “met” again when Jeremy woke up from his coma on 29th February, Li-ann’s 48th Birthday. Fulfilling their promise to meet on every 29th February.

While I have the luxury to see all my loved ones everyday. I just want to say I love you all.

Inhale air. Exhale bubbles

Published by Bryan under Diving

Where can you breathe the freshest air? Some may say in a park, others may say in a garden. But I believe there are two places where one can breathe the freshest air. Either you breathe through a tank at high altitude, or you breathe through a regulator underwater.

I miss the fresh air I breathe underwater. It’ll be another 2 more months before I get to breathe through the regulator, glide weightlessly underwater with the beautiful marine life.

Places where I normally dive in for the past 2 years, I’ve yet to see anything larger than me. The coming dive trip to Bali this September, I’m praying hard to see pelagic marine life such as the Mola Mola (Sunfish), which can grow up to as big as a bus. Hope to see manta rays, sharks and the cute colourful critters.

Would be making use of this trip to Bali to look for suitable locations for bridal shoots. Couples interested to do their bridal shoots overseas can consider the exotic and rich-in-culture Bali.
